With the intention of building up an ensemble of performers for future Vambo shows and Murder Mystery events, our adult classes offer an opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn new theatre skills and develop your interest in acting and performance.
Our classes are specially structured to ensure that – no matter what your level of experience or how committed you can be to joining the class every week – each session will be a fun, practical and creative experience that equips you with new tools to add to your performance repertoire.
Everyone who takes our classes will be invited to audition for our productions and, for those who want to, there is scope for taking LAMDA Acting and Devised Theatre examinations.
What will the classes be like?
Fun! Each class will start with physical and vocal warm-up games to help you loosen up and relax into a creative environment (so please wear comfortable clothes!) and from there the session will focus on a particular genre, style, theme, skill or script depending on what we are working on.
As the classes are ongoing a wide variety of topics will be covered – everything from different styles and methods of performance to character development to devising your own work – and expanded on as the ensemble grows.
The classes will be led by Vambo’s founder, Ashleigh-May Bawden, a Drama graduate with over 10 years of experience working as a Performer, a Director, a Writer and a Drama Teacher in the UAE, Southern Africa and Australia.
Monday evenings from 7pm – 9pm during school term time.
Branston Booths Village Hall, LN4 1JF. The hall is just 6miles from Lincoln and has free onsite parking.
